Urban Legions - FAQ

Urban Legions is an online turn-based role playing game. The game starts with your character being compelled to move to the strange city of Macropolis as one of the 'Empowereds', or those gifted with super abilites. The more you play, the more you find out about things that are happening. The city and game will react to how you play and the choices you make. Become a hero or a villain. The choice is yours.

You only need your favorite web browser. We strive to make Urban Legions look good in all browser types, and constraining to the minimal resolution found on most laptops, too. If you have visual problems with the game, please let us know, and we will fix it.

Urban Legions currently takes place in the city of Macropolis. A fictional city where 'Empowered' citizens tend to gather and lead out their lives. You found yourself drawn to this strange city, and it is your choice to either to just live out your life, become a hero, become a villain, or get to the bottom of things!

While it only takes place in Macropolis at this time, the city is HUGE and there are already several major story arcs to complete! Although our plans include expanding the game to more cities and worlds, we know you will find plenty of adventure in the streets of Macropolis.

Creating an account is REALLY easy and quick. We only just need your name, email, and login information.

Once you created an account, after you log in, you will be brought to the Character Roster page. It is here you can make characters and enter the game.

It is recommended you logout by clicking the 'Logout' button found at the bottom of the page. The game is saved as you play. If you close your browser at any time, your progress is saved and you can continue next time exactly where you left off.

When you log in again, all your information, and location, will be the same as when you quit before.

In your Profile, and from some advertisements, you will find links to 'Upgrading'. When you sign up, you are signing up for a non-terminating Trial account. The Trial account is limited to 20 turns a day, and restricts to you to about 80% of the content. There are several ways to upgrade.

• Subscribe. For an extremely low rate (cheaper than a hamburger!) per month, you will be able to play 100 turns a day, remove the ads and get access to all the story, events and items. We have more perks in the works too!
• Buy Turns. If subscribing is not for you, you can buy allotments of turns. There are no restrictions to how many turns you can play a day when you have purchased turns. Plus, ads are removed, and you gain access to the full story and events!

Besides upgrading your account, you can also buy Gift Turn codes. This allows you to buy turns, and to give them to friends and family.

After you log in, click on the Profile link. In your Profile page, about half way down, you will see a button for Upgrading. Click on the Upgrading button and you will be presented with your upgrading options through either subscribing or buying turns.

Click on the Upgrading button and you will be presented with your upgrading options. The first section gives details on what is included in a subscription, with a button to Subscribe. Click the Subscribe button to start the check-out process for your subscription. After you have finished payment, your subscription will be active.

After you log in, click on the Profile link. In your Profile page, about half way down, you will see a button for Upgrading. Click on the Upgrading button and you will be presented with yoru upgrading options. After the section about subscriptions, there will be one detailing buying turns. There are several turn amounts you can purchase, each costing a different amount. After you choose one, the 'Buy Turns' button will be enabled, and you complete your check out. After you have finished payment, your turns will be automatically added to your account.

You can buy gift turn codes by visiting the Products Page. Just choose the amount of turns you would like to buy, and click the 'Buy Turns' button. After payment is complete, you will be emailed the code for the turns. Codes are used by going into an account's profile page, and entering them into the redeem code section.

The game is a very unique interlocking puzzle. When you find yourself lost, or without any direction, there are several things you can do...

• Check your quests list. In your character sheet, there is a 'Quests' tab that lists the major story items still open.
• Check which events are in your event list (on the left side of the screen). On the map page, any currently open and important events are listed here.
• Post to our forums. We created some our forums just so players can talk, discuss and ask questions about the game.

When you enter an event, you will be presented with the story, and some actions on the left. However, keep in mind the actions listed are NOT all that you can do.

• Options are available and hidden based upon many factors. What you have done, what you have in your inventory, what you are wearing, etc.
• Events react to you using items and abilities. Below the actions, you can choose an item or ability and use it.

If you hit a dead end, think carefully about the situation. It is more than likely that you are missing a piece of the puzzle!

A lot!!! Urban Legions provides a very free-form way of playing. There are several different ways to play Urban Legions:

• Play the epic adventure: As you play, you will encounter plot elements and characters from the over-arching storyline. Depending on your character's status and moral standing, you may interact with different areas of the game. Meaning, if you are a hero you may interact with some characters in a way that is different than if you are considered a villain.
• Play as a strategy game: As you play, new events pop up randomly. The more you increase in level, the more frequent events are generated. Can you live the life of a super hero and stop crimes as they are being committed?
• Explorer: There are hundreds of sub-locations in the city of Macropolis with several sub-plots and mini-quests scattered about. Look around and see what you can find.
• Build up characters: As you explore the city and its several events, you will discover new abilities and items that will open up more of the game. Build up your character to the different stats to experience the different access points and options.
• Battle other characters: In the game, you will find an arena to battle snap shots of the other characters in the game. Can you become the reigning champion of heroes and villains?

Urban Legions is finished in the sense that it is a perfectly playable game with much to offer.

Is the content finished? No. Definitely not. We actively add more content to the storyline and the randomly encountered events. As we add content, we think of more challenges and more quests to add. The way we see it, Urban Legions is like a living comic book. Periodically, we add new chapters to the over-arching storyline, as well as fleshing out the city and its citizens. Unfortunately, we can't keep up with our imaginations. No worries! More is on the way!
