Events
Events are presented as a body of text which describes a scene. The scene could be a description of a location, an encounter with another denizen of Macropolis (either friendly or aggressive), what happens when you examine or use certain objects, and so on.
Some events will only last as long as the player is within the event, while others has a lifespan of several in-game minutes and will expire as soon as that amount of time has passed. Usually, many of the timed events will require the player to interact with the event, or else there might be a penalty when it expires.
There are different types of events you will encounter as you play Urban Legions. We refer to these events as: Default, Random, Special, and Travel.
- Default — This type of event is and event tied to a location. If there is nothing currently happening at that location, the default event will provide default details about that location. Default events can also include stores, homes, and other points of interest. Default events do not typically display on the left side of the screen under the Action frame.
- Random — Random events pop up periodically and are listed in the Action frame on the left side of the screen. Random events are typically crimes in progress, services that are needed, or other important pieces of information that occur. The higher the character's level in the game, the more random events become available, and the more that are spawned at a time.
- Special — Special events are only initiated by a player performing a certain action. The action could be using an item or ability, or it could be the way another event terminates.
- Travel — Travel events occur as a player is traveling from one location to another. The greater the distance traveled, the more likely a travel event will occur.
